I was born in San José, Costa Rica. I worked as Statistician for 30 years in different state institutions. 2003 I retired and a few months later I began to study painting. Soon I found out I loved watercolor. I have made three solo art shows.

I attended a watercolor workshop during 10-14 May in Florence, Italy. The teacher was Alfonso Tejada, architect and watercolorist. We painted in several places of that beautiful city, like the Bardini and Boboli Gardens.

Exposición doña Gisela Stradtmann en la UCR: doña Gisela, doña Cecilia y don Luis Paulino

Gisela Stradtmann

Gisela Stradtmann is my watercolor teacher since April 2007.  She studied Arts at the University of Costa Rica and at the Spanish Academy of Painting in Rome.  She was student of Margarita Bertheau, Luis Daell, Francisco Alvarado and Charles Reid.  She worked as watercolor teacher at the University of Costa Rica and for decades she has lead her watercolor workshop.  She has participated in several art shows in Costa Rica and abroad.

Doña Gisela is an outstanding person, as a woman and as an artist.  She has been able to observe the painting style of each of her students and according to this, she guides them.

She has dedicated her life to her painting, particularly to her watercolors.

Don Luis Paulino

Luis Paulino Delgado

Don Luis Paulino Delgado was my drawing teacher for two years.  He is an expert teacher, very helpful and supportive.  Thanks to his encouragement I have made three art shows.  His main field is engraving.  He studied Art at the University of Costa Rica and a Master degree in Buffalo, NYC.  He was Dean of the School of Arts at the University of Costa Rica and belongs to many boards of art organizations.
